Since we are on day 4,340 of 2020, aka the longest, most terrible-est year, I have pretty much given up “eating healthy.” For awhile (two months, lol), I bought green juice from Costco (the actual green kind with vegetables, not the kind that’s just apple juice with a kale leaf thrown in), prepped salad and bowls with all kinds of fancy grains, and basically parted ways with fast food. Then in March, quarantine happened and I was so sad all the time, I succumbed to McDonald’s Uber Eats deliveries and Kraft mac ‘n cheese all the time.
But these last couple weeks, I have been trying to be better. Not in the vein kind of way, because honestly who cares what we look like anymore, but in the “oh, I realize I feel more energetic when I drink water and take my dog on a long walk” way. Health is a lifestyle, as they say I guess, but there are ebbs and flows and dips and stagnant periods, and what I’m trying to say is: I’ve made small changes in my day that have made me feel good. One of those changes is using an air fryer instead of deep frying food or ordering it with my phone.
I got the Dash Deluxe Air Fryer, and when I saw it was on sale on Amazon, I knew I had to share and sing my praises. With this air fryer, you’re able to “fry” your food using 70-80 percent less oil, yet you still get crispy, juicy meals. It holds six quarts, so you can use it for yourself, or make food for your whole family. It’s super quick (much quicker than waiting for oil to heat up), and it has an auto-shutoff feature, so you don’t have to worry about a This Is Us-esque accident. There’s also a temp control feature, and you can throw the basket in the dishwasher when you’re done, so you don’t have to keep washing it by hand (unless that’s your thing). OH, and you can get it in aqua, red, white, and black.
Best of all, it’s super easy to use. There aren’t so many options that you’re left feeling overwhelmed or nervous you’re going to blow your kitchen. Which is a plus, I’d say.
I’ve written about Dash’s mini pumpkin waffle maker before, and another product I love by them is their egg cooker, which is also on sale for $24! Like, yes, you can boil your eggs in a pot of water, but you could also just pop your eggs in this cooker, set a timer, go shower, and when you’re done, your eggs will be ready for you, perfectly cooked. It’s all about the little things these days, ya know?
